Welcome Back

Hello Bolton parents, teachers and friends,

Welcome back to school!  I hope that you had a great summer with some relaxing time with your beautiful families.  It is back to school time again!  For our family, the first day of school means honoring the ritual of “first day of school” photos, the smell of freshly sharpened pencils, backpacks full of new supplies and little faces with big smiles as they get onto the bus with their friends.  Another ritual is planning the great PTA activities for the school year….and the Bolton PTA has many great activities and programs in store for you!

Our first event is our Back to School Pizza Party, which is scheduled for  September 13th.  This is a great way to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones. Our Enrichment Committee has scheduled author and illustrator Jarrett Krosoczka, to visit with grades 1-8 on September 26th.  He is the author of the “Lunch Lady Series” and we are very excited to meet him! We are pleased to announce that our very popular “Run to Read” 5K race will take place in October 5th. This is a way for our families to run and walk together as we raise money to fund some much-needed books in our BCS and BHS libraries.  We would love to see teachers and families walking and running together so please mark your calendars!

For the new parents here in Bolton, I know that you must be anxious and excited.  I remember the day that our oldest son stepped onto that kindergarten bus, looking back at us anxiously as he began his school career here in Bolton.  The Bolton Center School truly is a place where your children will thrive and where your child and your family will make many friends and memories!  The Bolton PTA is here to help you with the transition and we look forward to meeting you at some of our events this year.

Our first general meeting is Monday September 23rd at 6:30 p.m. in the BCS library.  Our featured speaker will be our Superintendent of Schools, Kristen Heckt, who will bring us up to date on the latest and greatest Bolton Public Schools happenings! The meeting will last only one hour and will include some social time after the meeting to enjoy coffee and to catch up with friends.  As always, childcare will be provided. Please join us as we celebrate our new school year!

With warm regards,

Katherine Gallé
